  • Q. What are the starting dates and qualifications to be enrolled?

    A. The fall semester starts in September and spring semester starts in February. Anyone can apply regardless of the nationality. Applicants must show proficiency in both English and Mathematics through a standardized test conducted in-person. This, along with an interview with either the Elementary or Middle/High Headteacher are all necessary in order to be enrolled. Students must also submit transcripts for the last two years, although high school students may require the entirety of their transcripts for credit tracking purposes. Students may choose to sit in for one day upon request.

  • Q. What is the class schedule?

    A. Academic class hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. followed by after-class activities until 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Classes are largely divided into two groups, regular classes and ESL classes, depending on the level of students. Starting in middle school, students have the ability to be placed into Honors courses, and high school students from the ninth grade onward will be scheduled according to SIE graduation credit requirements.

  • Q. What are the average number of students per class and the ratio of students to teachers?

    A. The number of students per class is ranged from 5 to 20, and the current student to teacher ratio is 7 to 1. In the lower grades of elementary, teaching assistants are sometimes provided depending on the number of students.

  • Q. What are the teachers’ qualifications?

    A. Most teachers have either a teacher's certificate and/or a bachelor's or a master's degree in the subject they teach, so teachers have expertise in their teaching subject.

  • Q. How is the lunch provided?

    A. To provide high-quality, nutritious meals, we offer low-sodium meals prepared on-site in our own kitchen and cafeteria. SIE students receive lunch and morning/afternoon snacks every day. Under the leadership and guidance of a qualified, Korean and international institution experienced nutritionist, three cooks prepare and serve meals using freshly sourced ingredients daily.

  • Q. Is SIE an accredited institution?

    A. SIE is fully accredited by Cognia(AdvancED), a member of A.I and NCPSA. SIE also has numerous affiliations that lend it credibility. SIE’ accreditations and affiliations ensure that it is meeting standards set for international schools and that the school is continuously evaluating and improving its programs and teaching.

  • Q. What is the difference between SIE and other international educational institutions?

    A. SIE boasts the some of the best facilities among international educational institutions in Seoul and has a student to teacher ratio of 7:1. Our classes are tailored to each student’s academic level. Since students are fully immersed in English at all times, and their English skills tend to improve very quickly. Our curriculum is more than academic. We also focus on guiding our students to grow and mature mentally, physically, artistically, and spiritually in a holistic manner to maximize their achievement and success.
    Recently, we have invited international education experts to establish a more systematic and competitive international program. In addition, we’ve brought in professional college guidance consulting experts for students to get the best assistance for college acceptance. Students enrolled in SIE receive outstanding instruction from qualified teachers in one of the best educational environments in Seoul, and will grow into individuals with a positive impact on the communities around them.

  • Q. What is the size of SIE?

    A. We operate out of a seven-story facility with an additional two-basement floors. The number of classrooms on each floor is between 6 and 8. The building is purpose-built with an indoor gymnasium, an auditorium, science lab, computer lab, library, music room, art room, ballet/dance studio, etc. We boast one of the largest facilities among international educational institutions in Seoul.
